Caramel Pudding and Tamil Nadu

Salam all. I was kinda walking around Bazaar Ramadhan (even though i don't think i buy much) when i stumble upon caramel puddings sold there n i was like - rm1 per slice? what the FUUUUUUUUUUUUU =_= Caramel is quite simple to make and hence, i thought, why not make it myself right? so, here we goooooo.

So guys, these are what you need: 6 tablespoons of sugar, 3/4 can of sweetened creamer, 3/4 can of water, a teaspoon of Custard flour, and 6 eggs.

First, heat the sugar in a wok/pan/whatever. As the sugar is being heated up, we can work on the pudding as the sugar dissolves and browns up.

As the sugar is dissolving, mix in the water and the sweetened creamer. Then, add in the custard sugar.

After that, add in the eggs and whisk everything together. When the pudding seems mixed enough, let's get back to the sugar.

The sugar should already be brown by now. Stir it a little and pour the dissolved sugar into a pre-buttered container.

Quickly add in the pudding mixture and you can start steaming the caramel.

Steam the caramel pudding for 15 to 20 minutes.

After 15 to 20 minutes, this is how it should look before we flip it.

Flip it and tadaaa. RM1 per slice (when in fact, the ingredients aren't that much). haha. btw, i dunno why does it seem so ORANGE in this picture. in reality, it's not that orange.

K, that's all. try it. X susah pon. Salam~

Dalam Botol

Salam. Ok, i'm not talking about THAT THINGY dalam botol as in the movie "Dalam Botol"; but what i'm saying is that lately, i'm feeling bottled up.

Friends of mine who are close to me should know that i'm a guy who likes giving opinions and lately, i've been in a state where i have to hold myself from letting out any opinions and it's driving me nuts =_= why? the 7 months holiday kept me close to my family but since i'm the youngest in my family; any opinions are considered useless and childish - hence, better bottle up my opinions and ship to Tamil Nadu.

ok. it's very unlike me to nag and "mengacom" in my blog (not dat i don't do it in real life) but GRRRRR, something happened today and i haven't met anyone "nag-able". that's it. omg i sound like an ass. sorry for being an ass =_=

kbai. don't be an ass. salam.

Ghost of the Effing Past

Salam all. i was glancing through my old sketch books to acquire inspirations for Saintly Satanic and i found a picture i drew in 2004 which i like (even though it's not that good).

However, i realized that the caption for the picture is sooo mushy2 bluerkkk2 =_= "LOVE will never DIES but it can be killed"?? F, i was 12 and i was writing things about love? i dunno why the heck i did not feel geli2 back then because i'm feeling geli2 now. haha. and notice the FAIL GRAMMAR - dies? for God's sake.

Kbai. Salam.

Birthday Girl and Cheese Tarts XD

Salam all :) Today is my niece's 6th birthday and i decided to bake her something i never baked before, cheese tarts! i know they look fugly but trust me, they're delicious XD Let's spare the nag and start baking :)

So, these are what you need for the pastry: 100g of butter, 30g of cream cheese, 200g (2 cups) of wheat flour, an egg, a tablespoon of sugar, a pinch of salt.

And these are what you need for the tart filling: 250g of cream cheese, 100g of brown sugar and a teaspoon of vanilla essence. Mini chocolate chips (Optional).

We'll be making the pastry first; so mix the butter, flour and cream cheese together. You won't need fancy machines for this one; so, just use your bare hand.

In a bowl, whisk the egg with a teaspoon of sugar until it fluffs up.

Then, add in the whisked egg little by little into the dough. When that's done, you'll have yourself the pastry. Hence, let's put that away for a while and do the filling.

The filling is very simple. Just mix everything together thoroughly and it's done :)You don't necessarily have to put the vanilla essence. It's optional.

Now, let's get back to the pastry. Mould the dough into flat circle-shaped thingy =_=

Next, put the filling in the middle and sprinkle some mini chocolate chips. When that's done, your cheese tarts are ready to go into the oven at 170'C for about 20 to 25 mins (based on the thickness of your tart actually)

Birthday girl is enjoying her cheese tart XD

Oh ya, Happy Birthday Nur Wani Insyirah XD

That's all folks. Thanx for tuning in. Salam :)

Saintly Satanic - Concept Art 2

Salam all. Like i've told you before, i'm planning to create an original on9 comic; so, this is my 2nd concept art.

The girl here is one of my main character whose role is a Summoner (notice the Final Fantasy influence here, haha) and the 'monster' is one of her 12 Guardians XD still thinking of the names, so any suggestions? i'll give a brief synopsis to the story in my next concept art of Saintly Satanic so, stay tuned :D

That's all for now. kbai XD

The Chronicles of Kuih Raya 3 : Rocky Brown Cookies

Salam. Wahhh2, the Chronicles of Kuih Raya is a trilogy now. hahaha XD ok, today, we'll be baking Rocky Brown Cookies (The name is courtesy of someone very dear to me <3 haha)I baked them with my niece, Wani just now. The cookies taste as sweet as dark chocolate so for those who aren't fans of super sweet stuff, this is the right recipe for you! So, let's get the oven BURRRNINGGGG :)

These are what you need: 250g of butter, 3/4 cup of castor sugar, 2 egg YOLK, 100g of ground Nestle Koko Krunch, 200g (2 cups) of wheat flour, 1/2 a cup of cocoa powder, almond nibs.

First, (as always), mix the butter with the castor sugar.

Next, (again, as always) add in the YOLKS.

Koko is sooo cute aite? XD Oh ya, next, grind 100g of Koko Krunch.

In another container, mix the ground Koko Krunch, wheat flour and cocoa powder together.

Okay, mix everything thoroughly now and hence, you're ready to mould the shape!

How do you mould the shape? Well, first take a little piece of the dough and roll it into a ball. Then, press the ball with a fork. Lastly, sprinkle some almond nibs and voila!

Don't forget to "abuse" your niece to carry the tray to the oven. Bake it at 170'C at around 15 to 20 minutes. There you go, Rocky Brown Cookies for Hari Raya :)

That's it guys. Kbai. Salam! XD

Pervert

Salam all. Ok, I was kinda looking through my old sketchings and found a 3-paged-then-totally-give-up "comic" i drew when i was in standard 6. Let me tell you this, it DID NOT suit my age =_=

That's the first page and i don't think i'll upload the next pages. it was about psychic guys because i was kinda into That's So Raven at that time.

What's so inappropriately perverted? Let's leave that a secret.

I still suck at drawing hands and bodies =_=

Salam.

The Chronicles of Kuih Raya 2 : Biskut Mazola

Salam. Okay, this is the "sequel" to the Chronicles of Kuih Raya. haha. And it's "Biskut Mazola". I baked them with my mom and yes, it's a classic Kuih Raya as everyone knows. Btw, YOU WON'T NEED A MIXER FOR THIS ONE SO YOU CAN SAFELY KEEP IT IN YOUR CABINET :D So, let's get that oven working!

These are what you need: 200g of wheat flour, 500g of groundnuts, 400g of Icing sugar, 70g of peanut butter and 350g of Mazola oil. Oh ya, you'll also be needing groundnuts and yolk for the topping.

First, mix the flour and the Icing sugar together.

Oh ya grind the 500g of groundnuts.

After the groundnuts are ground, mix in the sugar+flour and the groundnuts together.

Next, add in the peanut butter into the mixture and mix them thoroughly.

Now, add in the Mazola oil and after everything is mixed thoroughly, you can start moulding its shape already :)

Mould the mixture into "balls" and stick half a groundnut into it. Oh ya, don't forget the yolk!

Ok, done! Put in in the oven of 160'C for about 20 minutes and they're good enough for your tummy! XD

That's it. Kbai. Salam :)

Saintly Satanic - Concept Art

Salam all. Well, I have big dreams before - I still have; though, some are lying on the shelves - dusty and untouched. Last night, I picked up a pencil again and rekindled an old flame of dying passion - drawing. Wahh2, dramatik lebih lak XD

Okay, it's been soooooooo long since I last drawn and last night, i kinda had the idea to make my highschool dream of creating a comic a reality. The storyline and concept of the comic is based on the ideas i had over the years. This is kinda a warm-up to my rusted drawing. The title of the comic? - Saintly Satanic; and i'll be posting the comic here in my blog later on :)

Oh ya, the guy is supposed to be my main character.

That's all, bye, salam!

My Joy and Happiness

Salam all. Ok, i'm blogging about music the second time. I think those who know me personally know that i'm quite a fan of dark and Gothic music. 9th of August marks the date of Evanescence's release of their latest single, What You Want.

To be honest, i'm a little disappointed with the song AT FIRST - just a little though. Why? Well, I don't quite like the part "Do what you want you want" - it sounds repetitive. Another reason is that it sounds quite pop-ish. However, being a "devout" follower of Evanescence, when i listened to it again and again, i was already subconciously headbanging to the music; so, HELL YEAH Evanescence is back! XD
To be more exact, Amy Lee is back. haha. 3/4 of the original Evanescence line-up already become We Are The Fallen with Carly Smithson from American Idol as their frontwoman. To be honest again, We Are The Fallen is sooooo damn AWESOME! Despite being accused of being Evanescence's clone or copycat, you must take note that WATF are 3/4 of the original Evanescence line-up. The present Evanescence is only 1/4 of the Evanescence from 'Fallen'. personally, i love both Evanescence and We Are the Fallen. I especially adore this song from WATF - Tear The World Down which will be their second song to be released.

Support Evanescence! Support WATF! The world needs more music which are so colourful that it turned black XD

kbai. salam :)

The Chronicles of Kuih Raya 1 :Strawberry? Cornflake Cookies

Salam all XD Happy fasting XD XD XD this will be the 1st of the so-called many 'kuih raya' recipes i'll be posting this Ramadhan; and this one is called the Strawberry Cornflakes Cookies which i adore sooooo much when i was young (still young though). I've actually done this recipe twice already; mainly because i accidentally put the wrong ingredients on the first go =_= hence, lesson of the day, DO NOT misread your mom's treasured recipe book =_= ok guys, let's get started! XD

These are what you need: 250g of butter, 3/4 cup of castor sugar, 1 egg YOLK, 100g of crushed cornflakes, 200g (2 cups) of wheat flour, 2 teaspoon of red colouring, almond strips, Koko Krunch.

Okay, as always, mix the butter and the castor sugar together.

When the butter and sugar seemed well-mixed, add in the YOLK.

Now, turn your 100g of cornflakes into golden powder :)

When the cornflakes are well ground, mix it with the flour.

Then, mix everything together. btw, THE MIXTURE SHOULDN'T BE AS COARSE AS THE ONE IN THIS PICTURE. IT SHOULD BE SMOOTH AND QUITE TOO SOFT. I PUT TOO MUCH CORNFLAKES IN THIS PICTURE; AND IN CASE YOU'RE WONDERING - YES, THIS WAS THE TIME WHEN I ACCIDENTALLY MISREAD THE RECIPE =__=

After that, add in the colouring so that it has a 'strawberry-ish' look and you should start moulding its shape.

IT"S SUPPOSED TO LOOK KINDA LIKE THIS BUT SINCE I MADE THE MIXTURE TOO COARSE, IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO MOULD IT INTO A STRAWBERRY SHAPE. THERE SHOULD BE A PIECE OF KOKO KRUNCH IN IT AND 3 ALMOND STRIPS STUCK INTO IT TO RESEMBLE LEAVES.

Hence, because the mixture was too coarse, I changed the shape into heart-shaped cookies.

Then again, if you're having trouble with the correct recipe, you can always put it in paper cups. By the way, the cookies in this photo are taken from the second time i baked them - hence, the correct recipe. However, the problem with the correct recipe is that; the mixture will be too soft. Hence, if you feel that the mixture is too soft, then you should be assured that you're doing fine :)

So, there you go. Try it. It's my first of the many recipes of 'kuih raya' which i'll be posting later on. KBAI. salam.
